A Poisson Distribution Function and a Cheeseburger Walk into an Airport…

Wow. This is probably the greatest use of statistical analysis I have seen in a long, long time. I’ll leave it to you to read the article, but here’s a quick summary. The author, Dr. Seth Brown, employs the Poisson Distribution Function to assist in determining the risk/reward of eating a cheeseburger in an airport restaurant when faced with the competing interest of catching a connecting flight. Harrowing. Entertaining. Science.
